How Our Network Works
Who You Will Talk To
You will talk with an independent plumbing, drain or sewer provider from our network. Smartbrian Plumbing makes the introduction. The provider is a local business with its own staff, trucks and prices. That means the person on the phone can speak for the work, and we cannot.
What Happens on the Call
The first conversation is usually short. Expect a few simple questions:
- What is happening, and where in the home?
- When did it start?
- Is water still running or spreading?
- What is the address?
The provider may also ask you to take a small safety step, like shutting off a valve. Then they explain what the visit may involve and when they could arrive. Timing depends on the provider, so request a callback to check provider availability.
What to Ask a Plumber
It is fine to ask questions. A good provider will not mind. Here are some that help:
- Are you licensed and insured for this work?
- What is the visit fee, and does it count toward the repair?
- Will you give me a written quote before starting?
- What could make the price change?
- Can you take photos or notes to help with an insurance claim?
- Is there a warranty on parts or labor from your business?
Watch for Early Signs
Small sign, early action. A slow drain, a damp spot, a musty basement or a gurgling toilet can point to a bigger issue. Tell the provider about these signs. They can help you decide whether to fix it now or plan ahead.
You Are in Control
Talking with a provider does not mean you must hire them. You can ask for a written estimate, compare it and take your time when the situation is safe. If a price sounds far off from typical U.S. ranges, ask why. Get it in writing before work starts.
Ready to Talk to a Plumber?
Breathe, then shut off the water if you can do so safely. After that, reach out to a local provider and describe what you see.
